Graduate Student Reception - March 22, 2012

The AMCD Mentoring Program is designed to foster scholarship and service among the student membership of the organization. Mentees are chosen based upon their demonstrated commitment to multicultural counseling as illustrated by their involvement in counseling activities in their respective programs as well as the greater community.

Additionally, candidates must display an interest in advancing their cultural competence with an emphasis on social action. Mentees are usually awarded registration fees for the ACA conference and a ticket to the AMC luncheon. Depending on the number of mentees selected and funding in a given year, Mentees can additionally be offered full transportation and hotel costs. Students who are selected as Mentees will be assigned a collaborative project with their mentors that will culminate in a presentation at the Past-Presidents Reception at the ACA convention.
